Women's bill: Lok Sabha adjourned till 2 pm
New Delhi, Mar 10: Protesting against the government 'autocratic move' leading to the passage of the controversial Women's Reservation Bill in the Rajya Sabha, SP, RJD and JD(U) members created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha leading to its adjournment.
At first the house was adjourned till 12 noon. As the din over the bill continued, the house was adjourned for the second time till 2 pm.
SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, RJD chief Lalu Prasad and JD(U) president Sharad Yadav rushed to the well protesting the passage of the bill leading to the adjournment for the first time.
As speaker Meira Kumar announced the adjournment, Congress members congratulated Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
When the House reassembled at noon, MPs protested against the eviction of seven Rajya Sabha members on Tuesday, Mar 9. The protesting MPs rushed to the well shouting 'marshal bulao' (call the marshals), prompting the speaker to the adjourn the house till 2 pm.
This is the third day that the Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted over the bill.
