PM calls budget as job well done
New Delhi, Feb 26: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was full of praises for Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who presented the Union Budget 2010-11 in the parliament on Friday, Feb 26.
"A job well done" was Singh reaction to the Union Budget presented by Mukherjee.
" He is the party's most senior member. He is the most experienced minister. I congratulate him for the job well done."
"You must look at the total picture emerging from the budget. The net revenue gain for the Finance Minister is only Rs 20,000 crore. In an economy as large as India, this resource mobilisation effort and balance should not trigger any inflationary expectation. At the same time it gives the muscle needed.." he said.
Even as the oppositions voiced their displeasure, the Market welcomed the budget.
The pre stimulus excise duty rate was not rolled back by the finance minister.
