Karunanidhi praises Mukherjee's Budget 2010

Chennai, Feb 26: The Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who announced one-time grant of Rs 200 crore to Tirupur textile cluster in the Union Budget 2009-10, has earned praises from the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

“I commend him for giving priority to education, people"s welfare and infrastructure," said DMK president on Friday, Feb 26.

DMK is an ally of the ruling Congress-led UPA.

The Chief Minister also thanked the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the grant to Tirupur textile cluster, which came in response to the Karunanidhi's request.

Apart from welcoming the change in the income tax slabs, from which the middle class will benefit, the Chief Minister hailed the various sops announced for farmers, including loans.
