Food Security Bill draft soon: Pranab

New Delhi, Feb 26: Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday, Feb 26, said the Centre will soon come out with a draft Food Security Bill.

Presenting the Union Budget for 2010-11 in Lok Sabha, Mukherjee said, "Draft Food Security Bill will be placed in public domain."

Earlier, the UPA in its election manifesto had promised to enact Food Security Act to provide 25 kg of wheat and rice per month at Rs 3 per kg to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families.
