Vasundhara Raje quits as Leader of Opposition
Jaipur, Feb 22: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday, Feb 22, submitted her resignation as the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly to Speaker Deependra Singh Shekhawat.
Raje decided to resign after holding discussion with some of her loyalists on Sunday, Feb 21.
Earlier, Raje had sent her resignation to the party high command on Oct 23, 2009, but it was not forwarded to Speaker.
The BJP central leadership had asked Raje to step down from the post in Aug 2009 following BJP's dismal performance in the Lok Sabha and assembly polls.
