Villagers protest killing of a man in crossfire
Srinagar, Jan. 24 (ANI): Hundreds of people shouting slogans took to the streets in Pulwama district on Sunday, accusing the army of killing a villager.
Villagers alleged that Mushtaq Wani was killed by the army, as he was made as a human shield near his home on Saturday night.
However, police said the villager was killed in the crossfire between terrorists and the troops.
On Friday evening, a civilian was killed and five were left injured when police opened fire on hundreds of people protesting against the setting up of a police camp near a Muslim shrine in the north of the Jammu and Kashmir.
Authorities have denied any human rights violations, and said that they were probing the incident. (ANI)
