School principal booked for abetment to suicide
Mumbai, Jan 22: In a follow up on the suicide case of 13-year-old Abdul Khalid Sheikh, the principal and the clerk of Swami Vivekanand School, Trombay have been booked for abetment to suicide, according to media reports.
Khalid, a student of Std VIII, committed suicide on Wednesday, Jan 20, after he was suspended from school for a week for beating up his classmate, Akshay Sharma.
His uncle, Abdul was summoned by the principal Anita Nair and the clerk, Chandrika Nair, to complain about his nephew's misconduct and informed about his suspension.
Khalid was later found hanging from a ceiling fan in his uncle's residence.
Holding the principal and the clerk, responsible for the dead of the Khalid, Abdul lodged a complain in the Trombay police station on Thursday, Jan 21.
Abdul alleged that the principal and the clerk had warned Khalid of severe punishment if he attended the class before the completion of the suspension period.
