Now, smart iron that won't burn clothes
London, Jan 20 (ANI): Scorched garments could soon be history, all thanks to a super iron, called Auto Lift.
By appliances company Ariete, the 57-pound 'clothes'-saver has micro-sensors embedded in the handle so it 'knows' when it is not being held or used.
When the "Mr. Smartypants" device senses it has been left face down the feet automatically extend to raise the 2.3 KW steam iron an inch and prevent the hot plate from burning through clothes, reports The Telegraph.
Holding up the anti-drip iron causes the feet to instantly retract again and the Auto Lift also shuts off if left unused for eight minutes to minimise fire risk.
A spokesman for Italian based Ariete said: "This steam iron revolutionises ironing.
"The innovative patented auto-lifting system makes it the only iron that can rise and fall at the touch of a hand." (ANI)
