Maoists kill traders in Orissa for not acceding to demands

Khemaguru village (Orissa), Jan.19 (ANI): A group of armed Maoists killed a paddy trader Rama Gouda in Orissa's Malkangiri district on Sunday night for not acceding to their demands.

25 armed Maoists visited Khemaguru village, which falls under Mudulipada police station of the district and kidnapped 28-year-old Rama Gouda, a paddy trader by profession, from his home. The family was bolted from outside at the house.

Later, Gouda's dead body was found at the outskirt of the village.

No complaint has been lodged with the local police by victim's family apprehending wrath of Maoists.

In a separate incident, Maoists ransacked and burnt a house and looted the grocery shop of a businessman at Janbai, which falls under Chitrakonda police station, in the State's Malkangiri district.

He was reportedly killed for failing to pay the 'levy' demanded by Maoists. (ANI)
