Maruti Suzuki launches much-awaited EECO

New Delhi, Jan 7: The 10th Delhi Auto Expo, which has been the stage for range of popular automobile launches, on Thursday, Jan 7, saw the launch of much awaited multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) from Maruti Suzuki - EECO.

The country's largest car maker unveiled the MPV at an introductory price between Rs 2.59 lakh and Rs 2.89 lakh.

"Maruti Suzuki engineers have specially developed the Eeco, its new powerful engine and a new transmission system to meet the diverse consumer aspirations that look for a vehicle that fit a large family and at the same time provides flexibility for dual use," Maruti Suzuki India MD and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi said.

Powered by a 1200cc petrol engine, EECO is not only compliant with Bharat Stage IV emission norms, but also comes with a flexi design offering seven seater and five seater options.

The company also announced that it will be unveiling the electric version Eeco, named Eco Charge in the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
