We are now sure of justice ahead: Ruchika's friend

Panchkula, Jan 5: Ruchika's friend and sole witness to the molestation, Aradhna Parkash on Tuesday, Jan 5, said Ruchika paid with her life, so that no other girl goes through the same ordeal.

Speaking to reporters here, Aradhna said, "She (Ruchika) paid with her life, wanting that no other girl has to ever go through what she had to face. She had lost her faith in the system."

Welcoming the fresh FIR against former DGP SPS Rathore for abetment to suicide, Aradhana said, "It's been 16 years that we wanted this charge (Sec 306-abetment to suicide) against Rathore."

Aradhna thanked Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for keeping his promise that complaint under Section 306 of the IPC may be registered against Rathore.

"Now Rathore's influence is diminishing very fast and we are sure of appropriate justice ahead," Aradhana was quoted by news agency as saying.

Police filed a fresh case against Rathore on Tuesday, Jan 5.

He was charged under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code of abetting the suicide of teenager Ruchika Girhotra, who killed herself in 1993, three years after he molested her.
