Facebook blocks social network suicide websites
Washington, Jan 5: Social networking site, Facebook announced on Monday, Jan 4 that it is going to block a website named 'Web 2.0 Suicide Machine' which assist users in deleting their network profiles.
Another website Seppukoo.com which is also helps in erasing virtual identity has been sent 'cease-and-desist' letter for violating its rules, it added.
Citing the reason for blocking the 'Web 2.0 Suicide Machine', the social networking site in News agency report said that website violates Facebook rules.
"Web 2.0 Suicide Machine collects login credentials, which is a violation of our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (SRR)," it said.
Featuring a noose on its homepage, 'Web 2.0 Suicide Machine' deletes profiles, friends, including other information on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn for users based on their account information.
Similarly, Seppukoo.com, which refers to samurai suicide, encourages users to commit online suicide like the way a Japanese Samurai do to "impress your friends" and "disconnect yourself".
