Astrologers make Soren reschedule oath-taking
Ranchi, Dec 29: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren, who was scheduled to take oath as Jharkhand's chief minister at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, Dec 30, has rescheduled the swearing-in ceremony on the advise of his astrologers.
On Monday, Dec 28, Soren requested Governor K Sankaranarayanan to reschedule the swearing-in ceremony, said sources.
After the nod from the governor, the swearing-in ceremony has been rescheduled to begin at 10:30 am in the Morabadi ground in Ranchi.
"Astrologers had suggested that he (Soren) take oath at 1030 hrs IST instead of 1400 hrs IST. Given the past record of political instability, it was decided to reschedule the time of the swearing-in ceremony," a JMM leader said.
The governor also asked him to prove his majority on the floor of the state Assembly by Jan 8.
JMM, which has allied with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), is all set to form the government in Jharkhand.
