Jaswant Singh resigns as PAC chairman
New Delhi, Dec 16: Former BJP leader Jaswant Singh resigned from the post of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman in New Delhi on Wednesday, Dec 16.
He submitted his resignation letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.
Earlier, in Aug 2009, after his expulsion from the BJP following his controversial book on Pakistan founder M A Jinnah, the BJP had requested him to vacate the post.
However, Singh had turned down the demand even after many senior BJP leaders made failed attempts to convince him for resigning from the PAC chief"s post.
Following which members of the BJP and some of its allies had stopped attending the PAC"s meetings under his chairmanship till date.
