Howrah: Bus, Truck collide head-on, 20 killed
Howrah, Dec 14: At least 20 people were killed and over 25 injured when a bus collided head-on with a truck in the Howrah district on Sunday, Dec 13 evening.
The accident took place at around 6: 15 pm on the NH 6 near Mahisrekha bridge in the district. The private bus, which some report suggest was a tourist bus, was on its way to Gadiara town from Howrah.
20 dead bodies have been recovered from the accident site. And the injured people have been rushed to Uluberia Hospital.
The police, fire brigade personnel and locals are still lodged in rescue operations.
There are chances that the death toll may rise, say officials.
