Russian rape victim ready to withdraw complaint
Panaji, Dec 9: Following reports that the Russian rape victim is under a lot of pressure to tone down her complaint against the Goan politician, the woman is now ready to withdraw her complaint if the Russian Consulate does not offer to help her.
After the girl had filed a complaint at a local police station, the victim's lawyer sent her complaint to the Russian consulate.
Citing that the police are not cooperating with her and are siding with the accused, the 25-year-old Russian wants to withdraw her complaint against John Fernandes.
This comes after the accused was granted bail on Tuesday, Dec 8.
On Monday, Dec 8, the Goa Crime Branch Police took over the case and the charge on John Fernandes was changed from attempt to rape to rape.
