Israel Army chief meets Indian Navy and IAF chiefs
New Delhi, Dec 9 (ANI) : Top Israeli army officer Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi called on the Indian Navy Chief Admiral Nirmal Kumar Verma here on Wednesday.
The three-day visit of Lieutenant General Ashkenazi is aimed at boosting defence ties with India.
He also called on Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief, Air Chief Marshal P V Naik.
Visit of the Israeli delegation comes almost a month after Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor, visited Israel.
In recent years, Indian armed forces acquired military products from Israel ranging from unmanned aerial vehicles to truck-mounted cannons.
Israel developed the cannons especially for the Indian defence forces so that they can be placed on trucks and transported fast at a low cost.
It has also been granted access to India's space launch centres which a senior Israeli defence official reckoned as one of the best launch facilities in the world. (ANI)
