Pakistani militants waiting to cross over to India, says BSF official
Srinagar, Dec 7 (ANI): Baljet Singh, Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF) has said that militants from Pakistan were waiting to cross over to Kashmir from across the Line of Control.
Talikng to reporters here on Sunday, Singh said: " Militants are desperate to cross over to Indian Kashmir and carry out violent activities. But they are not getting success in such attempts as Indian paramilitary forces like the BSF and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and army are vigilant. We are not giving them any chance to infiltrate."
Security officials say Pakistan-based militant groups have stepped up efforts to infiltrate into the region across the Line of Control before winter snow blocks the Himalayan mountain passes.
According to the official reports nearly 395 infiltration attempts were reported this year as compared to 342 in 2008. (ANI)
