Nissan recalls over 3 lakh vehicles

Tokyo, Dec 4: Nissan Motor Co is recalling a total of 345,306 vehicles affected by faulty brakes and fuel gauges.

Nissan spokesman Mitsuru Yonekawa, who made this news public on Friday, Dec 4, said that 92 percent of the recalled vehicles were sold in Japan, while the rest mainly in Asia.

The recalled vehicles include Elgrand minivan, the Serena minivan and the Cefiro sedan (marketed abroad as Maxima).

Informing that there are no reports of accidents due to faulty brakes and fuel gauges, the transport ministry said corrosion could cause malfunction for parking brakes.
