Left claims 'proof' of Maoist-TMC nexus in WB
New Delhi, Dec 4: Left Front leaders on Friday, Dec 4 met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and presented him evidence of the nexus between Maoists and Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.
CPM leader Sitaram Yechury said, "The Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the violence in the state and assured them that the documents would be sent to the Home Ministry for a proper and thorough probe."
"While the Prime Minister has described Maoists as the gravest threat to internal security, some members of his cabinet are openly engaged with the Maoists and patronising and protecting them", he said.
He also said, "The CDs submitted have recordings of meetings jointly addressed by top Trinamool and Maoist leaders, besides the manner in which CPM and Left workers have been hounded and killed."
