Angry labourers block highway, burn vehicles in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, Dec 4 (ANI): Hundreds of labourers blocked the Ludhiana-Ambala highway and burnt vehicles here today.

Angered by the police's refusal to register the complaint of a labourer who was robbed by a gang of snatchers, the labourers burnt cars and trucks, and even pelted the police with stones.

Police had to resort to firing canisters of tear gas to disperse the angry mob. The protests went on for about two-and-a-half-hours.

Later, around 20 labourers were arrested for the violence. (ANI)
