'Lottery system in LPG dealership allocation'
New Delhi, Dec 3: Minister of State for Petroleum Jitin Prasada said that lottery system will be introduced to allocate LPG and other petroleum products dealerships in rural areas.
Stating that the move will ensure greater transparency to the process, Prasada said as far as allocation of dealership of LPG and kerosene is concerned locals will be given preference.
Prasada said that low cost rural retail outlets in addition to regular one will be set up oil marketing companies to cater to customers at rural areas so that the petroleum products will reach even to the poor farmers.
"New scheme called Rajiv Gandhi Gramin LPG Vitarak Yojana has been launched to increasing LPG penetration to cover low potential/rural areas," he said.
