TVS motors posts 23 pc growth in Nov 2009

Mumbai, Dec 1: TVS Motors Company, which has continued to see sustained uptrend in sales even amid the economic slump, has yet again reported a double digit growth.

Reporting a 23 per cent growth in Nov 2009 versus Nov 2008, the automobile leader registers 8 per cent cumulative growth in the current financial year up to Nov 2009.

The total two wheeler sales of 120,844 units against 98,402 units in the corresponding period of the previous year accounted for the double-digit growth in Nov 2009, the company said in a statement released on Tuesday, Dec 1..

In domestic sales, the company posts growth of 38 per cent, recording sales of 106,836 units in Nov 2009 as opposed to 77,491 in Nov 2008.

While the scooter sales grew by 38 per cent, motorcycle sales of the company stood at 45,080 units in Nov 2009 when compared to 45,276 units in Nov 2008.

TVS recorded sales of 14,008 units of two wheelers in Nov 2009 as against 20,911 units in Nov 2008 through exports.

The company is also set to roll out two new products - 110 cc motorcycle TVS Jive and 110 cc automatic scooter, TVS WEGO. TVS hopes to witness 15 per cent to 20 per cent surge in its monthly sales with these two products.
