MNS MLAs attack Abu Azmi for taking oath in Hindi
New Delhi, Nov 9: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) unleashed chaos in the Maharashtra Assembly during the swearing in ceremony of the MLAs by attacking Abu Azmi for taking oath in Hindi and not in Marathi.
The shocking live footage of the bedlam in the Assembly shows MNS MLAs roughing up Samajwadi Party's Abu Azmi for not conforming to MNS' diktat demanding that all MLAs should take oath in Marathi.
On Nov 2, MNS chief, Raj Thackeray demanded that all the MLAs in the newly elected legislative assembly must take oath 'only in Marathi'.
"The House will witness what my MLAs will do if anyone dares take oath in other language," Thackeray said taking the example of how a Marathi-speaking MLA was expelled from the Karnataka House as he could not speak in Kannada.
