Delhi: Blueline bus runs over and kills student

New Delhi, Nov 9: 'Killer' blueline bus claimed yet another life in Delhi on Monday, Nov 9. According to media reports, a teenage student was run over by a speeding blueline at around 8.00 am when he was on his way to school.

The bus which was on Seemapuri-Fatehpuri route mowed down Aditya Jain, a Class IX student in Usmanpur area of Northeast Delhi. The 17-year-old student studying at the Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalya School died on the spot.

The incident triggered off angry protests by locals who took to streets and held demonstrations at the accident site. They even pelted stones at the buses plying on the route.

A case of negligent driving has been registered against the bus driver who is absconding now. The conductor of the bus also faces charges.

This comes a day after a man was crushed to death by another bus in the south Delhi area.

The blueline buses earned the title of 'killer' buses after many reports of accidents came to light and the media initiated a campaign against them.
