H1N1 claims 7 more lives; toll up to 396
Mumbai, Oct 14: As per the official data released on Tuesday, Oct 13, seven new Swine Flu deaths reported from across the country have taken India's H1N1 death toll to 396.
Out of the seven fatalities, five have been reported from Maharashtra. While one of the five deaths took place on Tuesday, Oct 13, other four took place earlier but the were confirmed only on Oct 13.
Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state. The state's death toll now stands at 165.
The other two deaths were reported from Karnataka. The two victims had also died earlier also tested positive for H1N1. With this, the states toll mounts to 112.
Apart from this, 140 new cases were reported across the country, taking the total number of people infected with H1N1 to 12,185.
