Aug 2009 Industrial Production rises by 10.4 pc

New Delhi: Industrial production rose by 10.4 per cent in Aug 2009 due to the double-digit growth in mining, manufacturing and electricity sectors.

Factory production also expanded by 1.7 per cent in Aug 2008.
Even manufacturing grew by 10.2 per cent, electricity rose by 10.6 per cent in Aug.

The mining sector measured the growth of 12.9 percent in the month under review.
