TN journo held for hurting sentiments of actresses
Chennai, Oct 8: Police arrested B Lenin, the news editor of a Tamil daily, Dinamalar under Women Harassment (Prevention) Act on a complaint filed by Radha Ravi, the general secretary of the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA).
In the complaint the SIFAA alleged that the newspaper has published a report which hurt the sentiments of few actresses. In the Oct 4 report, the newspaper had named several Kollywood actress as those involved in the flesh trade in Chennai.

The report also called a confession of television actress Bhuvaneswari, who was arrested a few days prior to that under the immoral trafficking Act. Although the paper carried a regret note on Oct 5, film artistes association went ahead and filed a police complaint.
While the Madras Union of Journalists (MUJ) condemned the arrest of B Lenin, hundreds of SIFAA members and other bodies of Tamil film industry came together on Wednesday, Oct 7 to protest against Dinamalar.
