Heroin worth rupees 45 million seized in Coimbatore

Coimbatore, Sept 29 (ANI): Police here seized heroin worth upees 45 million in the international market.

According to the police official, the heroin was brought from ndhra Pradesh's Nagri district to Coimbatore.

"We found that two persons named Loganathan and Thangraj were oving under suspicion. We apprehended them for further nterrogation. We found five packets of 4.5 kilograms of heroin orth Rs. 45 million). After further investigation, we will be ble to ascertain the origin and the group involved. After hemical examination, we will come to know about the purity of his heroin drug, " said Ramaswamy, Deputy Superintendent of olice, Narcotic Intelligence Bureau (NIB)-Criminal Investigation epartment (CID).

Further investigations are on.

Heroin is derived from morphine, a naturally occurring substance extracted from the seedpod of the Asian poppy plant. Heroin sually appears as a white or brown powder. (ANI)
