H1N1 claims life of another pregnant woman
New Delhi, Sep 28: 24-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant succumbed to the H1N1 virus on Sunday, Sep 27 morning at Safdarjung Hospital and became the second pregnant woman to die of Swine Flu.
“She suffered from acute respiratory distress at the time of admission and was immediately put on ventilator," said Dr Anjan Prakash, additional nodal officer, Delhi government.
This was a case of delayed admission and the child had died in the womb, Dr Prakash said.
The victim, Anita Verma who died in the capital is reportedly a a resident of Noida therefore will not be added to the death toll of New Delhi, state health authorities said.
