BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha unapologetic about comments on Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi, Sep.28 (ANI): Actor-turned BJP politician Shatrughan Sinha has refused to apologise or retract his comments on Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
It may be recalled that on Sunday, Sinha had openly praised Gandhi in Nagpur, describing him as a well brought up person who had a bright future before him.
Sinha's open praise of Gandhi on the eve of Assembly elections in Maharashtra caused considerable embarrassment to the BJP top brass, which has termed his comments as unwarranted.
He said Rahul Gandhi had a bright future before him, while BJP youth leaders did not have the same charisma. He also said being "handsome" would not work in politics.
The former Union MInister also met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
The BJP brass has so far said that Sinha's comments are his personal opinion and have nothing to do with the party.
Answering a question, Sinha said that the recent wrangling within the BJP would not affect the poll prospects in Maharashtra. (ANI)
