AI stir enters 3rd day, 14 flights cancelled

New Delhi, Sep 28: As the Air India turbulence triggered off by protesting pilots enters third day, the airline cancelled as many as 14 flights on Monday, Sep 28.

Out of the 14 flights cancelled from the nation's capital, 12 are domestic flights to Bangalore, Varanasi, Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Leh, Nagpur, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Tirupati and two are international flights to Bangkok and Kabul.

These flights were cancelled as the pilots of the flights did not report to work, said an airline official.

The pilots started off the protest on Saturday, Sep 26 agitating against the cut in their productivity linked incentives (PLI).

To bring the pilots back to work, the airline authorities on Sunday, Sep 27, put a hold on the cut in the pilots' incentives and proposed to set up a seven-member committee to look into the issue.

However, the pilots refused to accept the management's proposition and continued their stir for the third day.
