Satyam to switch law firms in US

New York, Sep 22: Indian firm, Satyam has placed a plae with the a district court in the US, where it is facing law suits to allow the company to change its lawfirm.

District Judge Barbara Jones in New York has been requested to allow the company replace Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz by Jones Day.

Even though no official reason has been given for the switch, it is learnt that Wachtell partner Warren Stern and Satyam Executive Vice Chairman Vineet Nayyar have mutually agreed to the counsel substitution.

After the company's founder, Ramalinga Raju admitted to one of the biggest corporate frauds, investors in India and the US filed several lawsuits. The US cases have been clubbed into one complaint in a Manhattan-based federal court.
