Five die as roof collapses in Punjab

Batala (Punjab), Sep 20(ANI): Five members of a family, including three children, died when the roof of their one-room house collapsed in Aula Mohalla of Punjab's Batala city on Sunday morning.

According to reports, the roof of the house had weakened by recent rains, collapsed in the wee hours of Sunday resulting in instant death of five members who were asleep.

The deceased included Bobby, his wife Mamta, son Money, and two daughters Mona and Pari.

"I was sleeping in the next room. I heard a sound and went out. I saw that the roof had collapsed. I immediately went to call their elder brother. We went and dug out their bodies from the debris.

They were five, including a boy and two girls and his wife," said Monu, a neighbour of the family. (ANI)
