Chhattisgarh: 24 Maoists killed in gun battle
Raipur, Sep 18: At least 24 Maoists and one senior CRPF officer were killed in a gun battle in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region on Friday, Sep 18, police said.
Girdhari Nayak, Additional Director General of police in Chhattisgarh said, "Hundreds of police and special forces encircled more than 100 heavily armed Maoists around a rebel stronghold."
"The casualty figure is not less than two dozen. We have so far recovered 10 bodies," Nayak said.
