Narendra Modi confident after victory in by-elections
Ahmedabad, Sep 15 (ANI): Elated over the results of by-elections to the legislature of of Gujarat, Chief Minister Narendra Modi posed a challenge to his opponents.
Addressing a victory rally at Dehgam near Ahmedabad on Monday, Modi said, "After these elections, I want to challenge the opponents of Gujarat. I want to say that enough is enough until when will you (opponents) continue rubbing salts on our wounds and till when will you go on blaming innocent people of a developed state."
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won five assembly seats out of seven constituencies, while Congress had to be content with just two.
The BJP won Dehgam, Sami, Jasdan, Chotila and Danta, while Congress won Dhoraji and Kodinar.he Congress snatched Kodinar from the BJP, while the latter won in Jasdan seat form Congress, which has been a Congress stronghold ever since independence.
With this win, the ruling BJP's strength in the 182-member Assembly goes up to 122 while the Congress reached 54, others and independents account for six. (ANI)
