Guj by poll results show BJP leading in 5 segments
Gujarat, Sep 14: In the Gujarat by-polls held on Thursday, Sep 10, the Bharatiya Janata Party led in the five of the seven assembly segments.
Initial trends revealed that BJP candidates were ahead in Danta, Jasdan, Sami, Dehgam and Chotila while Congress was leading in Dhoraji and Kodinar seats.
The seven by-poll seats were Dehgam, Danta and Sami in North Gujarat and Chotila, Jasdan, Dhoraji and Kodinar in Saurashtra.
In the recent Junagadh Municipal Corporation election, the BJP lost to the Congress.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi had not campaigned for the party in the by-polls.
