CPI (M) politburo member Brinda Karat arrested in Tamil Nadu
Madurai (TN), Sep 12 (ANI): CPI (M) politburo member Brinda Karat was arrested on Saturday at a village in Tamil Nadu.
According to sources Karat was arrested with some All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) activists when they were on their way to a village in Madurai district.
Sources added that she was arrested because she was trying to conduct a meeting in the village, which is caste sensitive village.
The village lies in the Usilampatti subdivision in Madurai district having a history of caste clashes.(ANI)
