YSR remained a people's man till end
Hyderabad, Sep 3: With the demise of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, remains his last words uttered in an interview just before he boarded the chopper, which crashed and killed him.
Known as a man dedicated to people welfare, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy left Hyderabad in a chopper on Wednesday, Sep 2, to launch another mass contact programme .
YSR, as the Chief Minister was popularly known decided to visit a remote village in Anuppalle to pay surprise visits to learn about the people's problems.
"I want to know the problems in village through this surprise visit and want to have a direct interaction with the villagers," YSR said in his last interview to Sakshi TV Channel before boarding the helicopter around 8:30 am on Wednesday, Sep 2.
"If I tell the officials in advance about my visit they will rectify some problems and hence this programme is being launched. The basic aim is to see whether the delivery mechanisms of the government are working or not."
He had also said that he would continue paying such visits three to four times per month and cover four to five villages in a day.
It was mainly his welfare programs which, helped him to defeat Chiranjivi, the Praja Rajyam leader in the recent elections.
