Private FM radio broadcasters have been demanding for the permission to air the news bulletins from ling time.
According to I and B Ministry sources, the government is seriously considering the matter.
The permission to broadcast news, could be the part of phase III of bidding for FM radio stations, sources added.
At present, there are over 100 FM radio channels operating in the country and a number applications of private companies are pending before the ministry for license to launch new radio channels.
The All India Radio or Akashvani, which is considered, as government's voice at many times, is the lone news broadcaster among the radio channels in the country.
