RIL wants ADAG's ad campaign 'nipped in the bud'

New Delhi, Aug 24: Labelling Anil Ambani Group's (ADAG) ad campaign as 'malicious, mischievous, baseless and ill-informed propaganda' against Reliance Industries' gas field costs, Mukesh Ambani's RIL has said that the ads must be stopped.

Clarifying that the increase in capital expenditure for KG-D6 fields was due to increase in reserves, production facilities, peak production, number of wells, field life and inflation in equipment and services industry, RIL said that the propaganda by people with little experience of large projects should be nipped in the bud.

Alluding to ADAG's ad campaign, President and CEO (Petroleum) PMS Prasad wrote to Oil Secretary R S Pandey saying that the ads held the country's price and national interest hostage to their own narrow commercial interests.

"It is necessary to nip these malafide endeavours in the bud for the sake of the energy security of the country," wrote Prasad.
