Eight bookies arrested in Gwalior
Gwalior, Aug 23 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Police on Sunday arrested eight bookies here for betting during the final Test match of the ongoing Ashes series between England and Australia.
Acting on a tip off, the police raided a residential building and detained the bookies indulged in inter-state gambling.
Police also recovered laptops, computers, mobile sets and other data from their possession.
"Acting on a tip off, we raided a house in city's River View Colony and found people betting on cricket matches and other thing, we have arrested eight people in this connection and recovered six laptops, three computers, 27 cell phones, two fax machines and four mobile telephone sets from their possession," said In-Charge, Murar Police Station.
The police have registered a case under the Gambling Act and further investigations are on. (ANI)
