Heavy rains lash Delhi, airport roof collapses
New Delhi, Aug 21: A part of roof at Delhi airport's new domestic collapsed due to heavy rains on Friday, Aug 21, airport officials said.
Officials also said that flights out of the national capital were cancelled following torrential rains that also damaged a portion of the new domestic terminal building.
An official at the Air Traffic Control said, "The sudden downpour required us to first divert all incoming flights and we also advised all airlines to hold outgoing flights till the conditions improve."
Traffic jams were also reported from Noida DND flyway, Pragati Maidan, Moolchand underpass, Dwarka underpass, Tilak Bridge, Vikas Marg and Ashoka Road.
