Hizbul militant killed in encounter

Udhampur, Aug 17: An encounter with the security forces claimed the life of a top Hizbul Mujahideen militant in Reasi district, on Monday Aug 17.

The militant was shot dead in army and police joint operation in Larad area of Mahore tehsil, 107 km from Udhampur in the morning, police said.

The militants open fired on the security force, who shot back. In the encounter, alleged district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen identified as Altaf Hussein was killed.

The encounter continued.
