Taslima Nasreen to return to India in January 2010
New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): Controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen announced on Friday that she would return to India in January next year.
Nasreen also informed that she is travelling to the United States this month to work as a research scholar at the New York University.
Nasreen will be working in the US till December.
On Thursday, the Indian Government extended her visa for another six months after consulting various security agencies.
Nasreen expressed her gratitude to New Delhi for extending her visa till February next year.
Though Nasreen had requested for permanent residentship in India, the government has only settled for extending her visa.
The Home Ministry has not allowed Nasreen to move freely in the country due to security reasons.
Nasreen hounded by hardline Islamic groups, had returned to India recently to seek an extension of her visa, and is now residing at an undisclosed location in Europe.(ANI)
