India's Swine Flu death toll rises to 23

Pune, Aug 14: Two women in Pune became victim of Swine Flu on Friday, Aug 14, taking the death toll in the city to 15.

Health officials said, "70-year-old Parubhai Shinde, hailing from Ganesh Nagar in Yerawada, was admitted to a hospital here four days back following high fever and other symptoms of swine flu and died late tonight."

Sources said that another senior citizen, Bharati Goyal, who was suffering from fever and breathlessness for the last four days, had been on ventilator when she died of suspected swine flu on Friday, Aug 14.

With this, the number of Swine Flu deaths across India has rises to 23.
