Currency template leaked, CBI to investigate
New Delhi, Aug 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation has learnt that the secret template that India uses to print its currency has been leaked.
Informing that the secrete template has been 'compromised', the CBI said that special investigative team has been set up to look into the how the template was stolen.
The team comprises of officials from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, the Reserve Bank of India and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory to look into how the template was stolen.
"Our investigations have revealed that the 2005 secret security template which was introduced as part of the new design adopted then has been compromised," CBI Director Ashwini Kumar was quoted as saying in a news report.
