Mumbai, Aug 12: Severely hit by the Swine Flu or H1N1 virus, Mumbai is all set to close educational institutions and public places for a week effective from Thursday, Aug 13.

"The government has ordered the closure of all schools, colleges and other educational institutions in the city from tomorrow till Aug 20. Similarly, malls, theatres and multiplexes shall be closed for three days from tomorrow as a precaution," a state government official said.

The state of Maharashtra has been worst hit by the virus. The state has reported about ten Swine Flu deaths out of the 15 deaths in the country.

Even before this decision was taken by the state authorities, some private schools shut down in order to curb the spread of the pandemic.

Now, the commercial establishments are unsure if they too need to close or if they can continue operations.
