CBSE bans use of cell phones on campus
New Delhi, Aug 4: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has banned the use of cell phones in the school campus. Even though many schools have no received the circular from the board, they have imposed the ban after seeing the new rule on CBSE website.
The students have reluctantly okayed the ban imposed by the circular that states mobile phones are a major distraction and, at times, even misused. The memo specifically points out at the usage of camera phones.
It reads, "The cameras, which are a common feature now in most mobile phones, can also be misused. There have been enough lessons learnt in the past regarding the use of mobile phones and the Board strongly recommends that students should be convinced about not carrying mobile phones to the school."
The ban applies to teachers and the principals of the instituitions as well.
While the teachers are happy that this will get the students to listen to the lessons more, the parents are relieved that there is one less burden on their budget.
