RS: Opposition stalls the judges' assets bill

New Delhi, Aug 3: Raising objections over the bill which seeks declaration of judges' assets without making them public the opposition of Rajya Sabha on Monday, Aug 3 stalled the bill, forcing the UPA government to defer the bill.

The BJP and the Left front jointly opposed the clause six of the bill which states that High Court and Supreme Court judges would declare their assets but the same would not be made public.

Failing to get support from the Opposition and the Congress members, the Law Minister, Veerappa Moily deferred the the Judges (Declaration of Assets and Liabilities) Bill.
